The Southern Dahlia gift shop in Goldsboro, NC is hosting this class with me!
WHO: Ages 16+ (Perfect for families, couples, friends, and solo learners - all are welcome!) Beginner friendly, no experience needed.
WHEN: Thursday, November 12th, from 5:30pm -7:30pm
WHERE: 1719 E. Ash Street , Goldsboro, NC 27530
COST: $55 per person
INCLUDED: Instruction, clay, tools, glaze, kiln firings, & light refreshments
Enjoy a fun & crafty night out and learn to make your new favorite coffee mug with your own two hands! In this two hour class, you will learn the process of building pottery by hand with slabs of clay, (we will not be using the pottery wheel). For this class we will have some special holiday stamps available to choose from, so you can decide whether you prefer a “year round” mug design or want to get into the festive spirit with a Christmas design.
GLAZING: You will choose a glaze color from my studio glazes (all glazes are non-toxic and lead free). Your mug will go through two firings and I will apply the glaze for you before the final firing. This process will ensure it is dishwasher and microwave safe and you will be able to enjoy your creation for years to come.
TURNAROUND TIME: All finished pieces will be available for pick up at The Southern Dahlia approximately 5 weeks after our class date, with updates provided. These should be ready in time for Christmas and shipping is available for an additional fee.
DISCLAIMER: Mishaps can occur in firings and not all practice pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Inconsistencies in construction can cause cracks or warping in the firing process. However, the goal of this workshop is to learn, try a new experience, and have fun - not just the finished product.
NON-REFUNDABLE: Due to limited offerings and class sizes, class bookings are not refundable. If you cannot attend your class as scheduled please let us know as soon as possible, and you are welcome to resell your ticket. In some cases with enough advance notice we may be able to rebook you on a different course date depending on availability.
