WHO: Ages 16+ (Perfect for families, couples, friends, and solo learners - all are welcome!) Beginner friendly, no experience needed.

COST: $55 per person
INCLUDED: Instruction, clay, tools, kiln firings, 16 oz. coffee, baked good
Come enjoy a coffee and sweet treat from Southern Ground while you learn to make your new favorite coffee mug with your own two hands! In this two hour class, you will learn the process of building pottery by hand with slabs of clay, (we will not be using the pottery wheel). You can choose to decorate your mug with surface texture or patterns (provided) or keep it plain and simple.
GLAZING: You will choose a glaze color from my studio glazes (all glazes are non-toxic and lead free). Your mug will go through two firings and I will apply the glaze for you before the final firing. This process will ensure it is dishwasher and microwave safe and you will be able to enjoy your creation for years to come.
TURNAROUND TIME: All finished pieces will be available for pick up approximately 8 weeks after our class date, with updates provided.
DISCLAIMER: Mishaps can occur in firings and not all practice pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Inconsistencies in thickness can cause cracks or even shattering in the firing process. However, the goal of this workshop is to learn, try a new experience and have fun, not the finished product.
NON-REFUNDABLE: Due to limited offerings and class sizes, class bookings are not refundable. If you cannot attend your class as scheduled please let us know as soon as possible, and you are welcome to resell your ticket. In some cases with enough advance notice we may be able to rebook you on a different course date depending on availability.
